The modern automobile is a complex assembly of electronic, mechanical and computerized components. The relationship between these components makes servicing and maintaining your car or truck more and more difficult and confusing for the average vehicle owner.

Auto MOJO Radio debuted on KPRC – AM 950 Talk Radio in 2004 as The Car Counselor Show. In 2014 the show rebranded as the Auto Mojo Radio Show. John, Jim and Lynn continue to offer advice on buying, selling, maintaining your car.

As members of the Texas Auto Writer’s Association they have access to the latest cars and light trucks, manufacture’s representatives and industry insiders and enjoy sharing that information with you.

Meet The Hosts

Host: John Miller

The host of “Auto MOJO Radio” on Talk Radio 950 KPRC AM, was born in Staten Island, New York, grew up in Arizona, and arrived in Texas at age 15. As a teenager he learned to work on cars out of necessity, he couldn’t afford a car that would keep running without constant repair. Fresh out of Mount Carmel High School at 17 he went to work for his girlfriend’s dad to help out for a few days in his shop. His love affair with cars has long outlasted his romance with the boss’s daughter.

In 2004 John took over the hosting of The Car Counselor Show (later rebranded as Auto Mojo Radio) with no past experience in radio. He didn’t expect it to last long, but it is still running strong today. He attributes the success of the show to faithful listeners and great co-hosts.

Co-Host: Jim Miller

Jim is a native Houstonian who grew up in an auto repair shop. As a kid he played on the lifts, raising his little brother into the air and leaving him there. He could ride a mechanics creeper better than a lot of kids rode skate boards. While in high school he and his father, John, built his first car, a 1968 Camaro convertible. Starting with a rusted out old clunker they rebuilt the body and drive train, re-upholstered, and re-topped it together ending up with teenagers dream car. He graduated from La Porte High School and has accumulated hundreds of hours of technical training in auto technology. Jim is currently a ASE Certified Master Technician. Jim is a member of Texas Auto Writers Association.. He is married to Beckie, another native Texan, and has three children, Bradley, Johnathan and Staci.

Co-Host: Lynn Beckwith

Also known as  “That Car Lady”

Frequently asked what started her passion for automobiles, Lynn pulls stories from her youth of old pickup trucks her family drug from swamps in Virginia and the clunkers she drove while obtaining her degree in marketing during college years. She likewise gives credit for her philanthropy and community spirit to her parents and brags about the staff of her 25 year long business, Beckwith’s Car Care by quoting her father’s mantra of “always surrounding yourself with people better than you are.” In an industry not always noted for its ethics, Lynn has set the bar high with one of her company’s many awards being the Better Business Bureau’s Excellence Award in Ethics. In addition Beckwith’s Car Care has received The Houston 100 three years in a row, the National Excellence Award Top Shop.Beckwith’s Car Care was recently selected by Motorage magazine as one of the top ten shops in the Nation and also presented the Angie’s List Super Service Award. Lynn is an active member of the Texas Auto Writer’s Association, serving on the Board. She has many inside connection in the auto industry, both in manufacturing and repair and willingly shares that information with her listeners
